Kakkugalleria – Cake Gallery

Olen ollut teini-ikäisestä asti innokas kakuntekijä. Erityisesti täyte- ja suklaakakkuja. Viime vuosina olen innostunut tekemään koristeita myös marsipaanista tai sokerimassasta. Kuorrutan kakkuja harvoin kokonaan marsipaanilla tai muulla massalla, sillä maun suhteen en ole niiden suuri ystävä. Nyt tietenkin, kun “normi” kuohu- ja vispikerma eivät enää kuulu ruokavalioomme, asettaa se haasteita myös kakunkoristelun suhteen. Muutamien kokeilujen jälkeen olen löytänyt soijakerman, joka toimi vatkatessa kuten “normikerma”, maistui hyvältä ja itse asiassa säilyi hyvännäköisenä ja -makuisena pidempään. Juhuu, kuten Poikamme sanoo innostuessaan 🙂

I’ve been an enthusiastic cake baker since I was a teenager. Especially layered cakes with cream or chocolate. During the last few years I’ve also started to use marzipan or sugar paste for decorations. I rarely cover the whole cake with marzipan or other pastes, as when it comes to taste, I’m not the biggest fan. Well of course now, that “standard” whipped cream is no longer part of our diet, it introduces new challenges also with decorating cakes. After some experiments I’ve found a soy whipped cream that functions like “standard” cream when whipped, tastes good and as a matter of fact, looked good and tasted better even longer than the “standard” whipped cream 🙂
